Bone augmentation procedures are a safe and very effective tool in pain management that permits pain reduction and instantaneously improves bone stability. Furthermore, in cancer patients, percutaneous vertebroplasty (PV) and osteoplasty are effective palliative therapy options supplementing other antineoplastic therapies that result in patients’ comfort by giving them the possibility of reestablishing their daily activities in a short period of time. Despite a controversy on the effectiveness of bone augmentation, PV is a commonly performed procedure in osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures (OVCF) that is endorsed by professional societies.
