Musculoskeletal Interventions: Thermal Ablation of Benign Bone Tumors
摘要
Painful benign bone tumors frequently undesirably influence quality of life primarily due to skeletal-related events, like untreatable pain, pathologic fracture, neurologic deficit, and may trigger skeletal growth disorders. Extensive advances in percutaneous minimally invasive image-guided thermal ablation techniques helped to establish different techniques as safe, efficacious, and durable methods for the treatment of painful benign bone tumors with the potency to achieve definitive cure. Therefore, these methods have expanded the role of interventional radiologists in the care of musculoskeletal patients with benign bone tumors.
