Pneumothorax is a common complication of lung biopsy or ablation. Using the trocar technique, insertion of a 9F catheter is a safe and quick method to resolve post-interventional pneumothoraxes. Following catheter placement, little nursing care is required and patients with a Heimlich valve can even be treated as outpatients.

Pneumothorax is a common complication of lung biopsy or ablation. Using the trocar technique, insertion of a 9F catheter is a safe and quick method to resolve post-interventional pneumothoraxes.
