Critical Disciplinary Literacy and Positioning in Religious Education
摘要
In this text, we highlight positioning as the central element in critical disciplinary literacy in religious education (RE). Various academic disciplines contribute to the knowledge base of the subject. Acquiring insight into how the various academic disciplines establish knowledge and what kind of knowledge they bring to the subject is of importance for students’ learning in RE. To elaborate on how this might be done, we discuss the two tools RE-spectare and RE-present & RE-flect, which are designed to help students reflect on sources, representation and positioning while reading and writing in the subject. We find that reflection on sources and awareness of representation and positioning can contribute to a critical disciplinary literacy in RE.
