In this chapter, we provide an overview of the findings from the assessment of wetland threats. It emphasizes the challenges posed by eutrophication and turbidity, specifically higher for inland wetlands impacted by human activities. Subsequently, we discuss the key issues impacting Ramsar wetlands, along with strategic policy and technological recommendations. It will assist in making policies aimed at restoring the wetland ecosystem and maintaining its health. The combined approach, leveraging both traditional knowledge and modern technologies to strengthen wetland conservation efforts, needs to be utilized. Considering this with a call to address existing research gaps, this section underscores the need for further investigation into less explored aspects of wetlands, fostering a deeper understanding of these ecosystems. This approach of integrating indigenous practices with technological advancements is essential for effective and sustainable wetland management. It enhances the conservation policies that balance ecological, social, and scientific perspectives. Lastly, we present insights into potential avenues for future research in wetland conservation.
