This paper distinguishes between different forms of disinformation in the context of the homeopathy discourse. To this end, the paper first looks at the motives of the various narrative carriers (True Believers, Committed persons, Bullshitters, Semi-Ironic persons, and Entrepreneurs). We argue that the type of disinformation depends on the motives. We differentiate between a strategic and an expressive modality of disinformation. In the strategic modality, false information is spread for the sake of deception, for example, to convince a person of a specific cause or to encourage them to buy a product. In the expressive modality, false news is spread to articulate mistrust of established institutions (science, governments, conventional medicine, etc.). This paper aims to concretize this distinction in more detail by examining the aforementioned narrative carriers and to work out further internal differentiations.

摘要
