Policy and Compliance: Regulatory Perspective for Autonomous Aerial and Surface Operations
摘要
Today, unmanned aerial systems (UAS) are increasingly used by individuals, organizations, government, businesses in the collection of military and civilian applications like transportation, border surveillance scientific research, port security, and more. The need for governance for these unmanned aerial vehicles is vital for safety. Overall use of unmanned aerial systems must be properly regulated to ensure correct use, so it doesn’t endanger the public or property. This paper provides a comprehensive review of regulatory frameworks governing unmanned aerial systems, it also discusses the aspect UK government regulation on each of the unmanned aerial systems, risk governance covering safety and cybersecurity and the need for a suitable framework relating to unmanned aerial systems usage. While focusing on the United Kingdom, this research explores the legal implications of commercial, civil UAS use, its challenges and opportunities. It also presents the need for a legal framework and regulation that can accommodate the evolving UAS technology while ensuring public privacy and safety.
