This chapter synthesises the findings from the studies on youth engagement with SDG 16 in The Hague, positioning the research within the broader framework of child justice. By drawing on Social Identity Theory (SIT) and social cohesion, it examines how youth, particularly those from marginalised communities, engage with concepts of peace, justice, and strong institutions. The chapter emphasises the importance of safety, shelter, and protection from harm in the context of child justice, particularly for youth who have experienced adult violence. The findings lead to several policy recommendations aimed at institutionalising youth participation, building trust with law enforcement, and ensuring educational equity. These recommendations are contextualised within the broader global framework of child rights, highlighting the importance of providing youth with the tools and spaces to engage meaningfully with global goals while ensuring their safety and justice.
