BashWatch: Monitoring Your Devices with Command-Line Clarity
摘要
As we know that in this technical world everyone needs a summary for their system information and what is going on in it. It is essential to have a monitoring system through which one can know about the information of metrics and records from their system. The Bash System Monitor script is one of those tools which will help users in administration systems and system monitoring in Unix systems. A robust monitoring system is vital in the modern computer environment, where system resources are constantly changing, and performance interruptions can have terrible outcomes. The study shows a broad set of monitoring tools: a Bash script that meets the needs. We implemented the script with the functionalities that includes monitoring network traffic in real-time, network interface health, efficient program management, and CPU, memory, and disc utilisation measurements. The script stands out as it incorporates alerting techniques which are based on thresholds, which let users set thresholds and take measures to find and fix any problems before they worsen. This ensures continuous service delivery and system downtime is reduced. As the script emphasizes accessibility, customisability, and resource efficiency, the Bash System Monitor stands out as a tool for both users and system administrators. It can be integrated into a range of UNIX based systems and can get the outcome of the monitoring through the Command Line Interface (CLI). This enables users to get ahead of the problems and take effective action to minimise them, ensuring that their systems operate without delays.
