With the continuous development of artificial intelligence technology, intelligent algorithms are fully applied in the engineering construction process. In order to improve the inspection efficiency and intelligence level of hydropower projects, an MR wearable is proposed for intelligent inspection of hydropower projects and the concept and basic design are first demonstrated in detail. Further, the function requirements and application characteristics of the wearable for hydropower engineering were discussed from the perspectives of three different users: survey and design units, construction and supervision units, and operation and management units, to provide targeted design requirements and desirable functions for the application of intelligent inspection at different stages of the life cycle of hydropower projects.
