The Impact of Green Media and Information Literacy Education on Greenwashing Perception and Sustainable Consumption Behavior
摘要
The impact of media literacy training on greenwashing views and eco-friendly consumption practices is examined in this study. People who are media literate are more likely to adopt sustainable consumption practices and be wary of false environmental claims. The results of the study demonstrate that following the training, participants were more conscious of the need to challenge environmental claims and were better equipped to discern between genuine sustainability and greenwashing. Participants reported that they expected to make thoughtful choices regarding sustainable consumption and that they typically conducted additional study before buying products that made environmental claims. Students’ ability to critically assess media messages was enhanced by the training, which also made it possible for them to choose ecologically friendly items by taking into account aspects like certifications, production methods, and environmental effects. According to these results, teaching media literacy can be crucial in helping people adopt more ecologically responsible consuming practices.
