Financial inclusion remains a global priority for development partners and policymakers, recognised as a key driver of shared prosperity and sustainable development. Numerous initiatives have been introduced to advance inclusion, particularly for underserved and marginalised groups such as women, rural populations, and small businesses. Financial technology (FinTech) has emerged as a powerful enabler in this effort by offering efficient, accessible, and affordable financial services through innovations like mobile money, digital banking platforms, and mobile applications. These solutions have significantly lowered barriers to accessing formal financial systems. However, despite the notable progress, several regulatory challenges persist. Key concerns include data privacy, cybersecurity threats, consumer protection, and compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) requirements. This chapter explores the challenges and provides policy recommendations and best practices.

摘要
