In the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), ensuring youth employability readiness and sustainability is crucial for navigating the dynamic job market. A significant gap exists between the skills needed for 4IR and those currently held by young professionals. Detailed research is necessary to identify the competencies and attributes essential for enhancing youth employability readiness in the 4IR era. Using Constructivist Grounded Theory, this study gathered data through in-depth semi-structured interviews and focus group discussions (FGDs) with young people from different higher education institutions as well as experts from 4IR industries. The research investigates the key skills youth need to succeed in an era marked by rapid technological shifts, including AI, big data, and automation. The findings highlight four themes for youth employability readiness and sustainability in the 4IR job market which are mindset and attitude, cognitive abilities, business strategic skills, and resource management. These themes consist of growth mindset, resilience, perseverance, problem-solving, adaptability, technical expertise, and creativity. By elucidating the competencies for youth to be prepared for the workforce in a changing 4IR job market, this study makes a significant contribution by providing useful information for government agencies, educational institutions, and legislators who want to create focused programs that improve youth employability readiness and sustainability.
