Geomechanics Workflow Challenges and Hydrocarbon Potential in the Nile Delta
摘要
In recent years, the Nile Delta has emerged as a promising frontier for oil and gas exploration, drawing significant attention from industry experts. This chapter emphasizes the importance of understanding the subsurface mechanical behavior of the region’s geological formations, which directly influences drilling operations, wellbore stability, and reservoir productivity. We present a comprehensive geomechanical workflow tailored for oil and gas exploration in the Nile Delta, focusing on the findings related to rock mechanics. Through an exploration of key concepts, principles, and applications of geomechanics, this chapter includes case studies that illustrate the unique challenges and solutions encountered in drilling operations within the Nile Delta’s petroleum system. These insights underscore the vital role of rock mechanics in optimizing drilling strategies and enhancing the overall success of exploration efforts in this geologically complex area.
