Perceived Productivity Through Life Skill Training: Moderation Effect of Work Environment

Employee productivity has ever been a challenge for organisations. Technical training, environmental training, creativity training, domain specific training etc. are consistently conducted to equip the employees towards meeting desired level of productivity. Some organisations life skill training for the employees to reduce stress at work. This study is an attempt to determine the impact of life skill training on perceived productivity on the employees working in graduate education and software industry. The rationale for the two sectors is the similarity of job profile in terms of creativity. The study has been carried out through primary data. The findings reveal that addressing Stress, Emotion, Empathy and Mental Blocks have a significant impact on perceived productivity through employee engagement as a mediating variable. Employee engagement has not been found directly influencing perceived productivity but with the help of conducive work environment it is able to have a significant impact on perceived productivity.
