Family-owned businesses are vital to the economy because they create jobs and maintain stability in the market. With an emphasis on the dynamics that underpin their operation and sustainability, this study intends to investigate a variety of aspects of family-owned businesses in the Coimbatore District. The aim of the research is to give a thorough understanding of the variables that affect the decision to choose family-owned businesses, as well as the reasons for conflict in family business, succession planning, and sustainability, continuity. Finding the elements that lead people to select family-owned businesses over other types of businesses is the fundamental objective of this research. Examining individual, societal, and monetary reasons is an aspect of this. The study will also examine how business factors, such as business culture and leadership ideas, and family dynamics, such as roles and relationships within the family, impact the productivity and success of family-owned businesses. Examining succession planning in family-owned firms is the following aim. This entails examining the tactics used by families to maintain the viability and continuity of the business for many generations. The study will evaluate the business’s strategies for expansion as well as the difficulties they have in preserving their competitive advantage while upholding the legacy and values of their families. In order to maintain long-term harmony and success in family-owned businesses, it is imperative that one understands the reasons of conflict and challenges associated with it.
