The decision-making processes that people or organizations employ to manage their financial resources, such as budgeting, investing, spending, and saving, are referred to as financial behavior. Understanding financial behavior is crucial for the purpose of creating plans that encourage responsible financial conduct, reduce risk, and improve overall financial well-being. This article aims to explore trends, patterns and key contributions in financial behavior research using a bibliometric analysis. The source of information was the Scopus database, which yielded 489 publications in total between 1969 and 2024. The findings show that there has been a rapid increase in the literature on financial behavior from 1969 to 2024. The most prominent countries in financial behavior research are the United States, India, Italy, and Russia, actively contributing to the field through significant research and publications. Highly cited papers underscore the importance of financial literacy and education in shaping financial behaviors. The analysis of commonly used keywords reveals core research themes such as financial education, savings behavior, and financial well-being, reflecting emerging trends and the diverse scope of financial behavior research. This study underscores the need for continued research and interdisciplinary collaboration to address the complexities and broad implications of financial behavior.
