A wind turbine monitoring system is designed to detect and monitor the health of turbines by tracking key parameters such as speed, temperature, and vibration using appropriate sensors. In case of abnormalities in sensor reading, an automatic system shutdown is triggered to prevent damage of wind turbines. The monitoring data is stored in the Ubidots STEM cloud via an Internet of Things (IoT) device. To protect the data, before exposing it to the cloud via IoT devices, this proposal introduces a defense model that applies an efficient cryptography scheme to encrypt sensor data. Three different AES encryption techniques are implemented and compared to identify the most effective method for protecting the data.
