The domain of responsible decision-making in autonomous systems is becoming highly relevant due to their deployments across various applications. Ensuring responsible behavior in autonomous systems enhances their acceptance by promoting safety, fairness, and societal benefit. In this study, we analyze responsibility through systemic or collective-level metrics, we analyze dilemmas where autonomous agents must navigate choices between self-interest and collective benefit. To address such challenges, we review existing literature to identify key latent drivers that influence responsible autonomy. These drivers are contextualized through game-theoretic scenarios and extended to real-world applications, demonstrating the practical utility of frameworks for responsible decision-making in autonomous systems.
