In recent years, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) swarms have been widely used in military and civilian fields. UAV swarms achieve mission objectives through distributed collaboration and communication, and can adapt to complex environmental changes and diversified mission requirements. Based on communication networking technology, UAV swarm networks can achieve efficient communication guarantee and coverage, and information interaction and synchronization between nodes further improve mission effectiveness. This chapter first outlines the concept and connotation of UAV swarm networks, and explains its research hotspots and applications in academia and industry. In addition, this chapter also discusses emerging technologies enabling UAV swarm networks and related research and industry standards of UAV swarm networks.
