Hispanics are the second largest ethnic group in the United States, after non-Hispanic Whites. They are a heterogeneous population which requires careful understanding of the definitions used to identify for purposes of research. Hispanics underutilize assisted reproductive technologies (ART) and have somewhat poorer outcomes compared to other demographic groups. In this chapter, we describe the historical evolution of the terms Hispanic and Latino, review utilization and access to care for fertility services, evaluate outcomes, and suggest areas for future research. For simplicity, we will use the term “Hispanic” to refer to the group commonly classified as “Hispanic, Latinx, or Latino.”
