High-Throughput Multiparametric Platelet Function Testing
摘要
Platelet function testing is essential for diagnosing bleeding disorders, monitoring antiplatelet therapy, facilitating drug discovery and understanding thrombotic diseases. While traditional methods, such as light transmission aggregometry, remain effective, they are time-intensive and require significant blood volumes. High-throughput multiparameter systems, including microtiter plate-based assays, flow cytometry and microfluidic devices, now enable large-scale simultaneous evaluation of multiple platelet functional parameters using minimal blood volumes and low platelet counts. These innovations are particularly useful for assessing platelet function in pediatric and thrombocytopenic patients, as well as in large patient cohorts. This chapter explores the latest technological advancements in high-throughput platelet function testing, highlighting their analytical capabilities, clinical applications and future directions in personalized medicine and translational research.
