Realizing the Need to Take a Step: Applicable International Law Is Not Enough
摘要
This chapter of the book surveys the applicable international law as well as national legislations adopted by certain countries (USA, Luxembourg, UAE, Japan) regarding the granting of property and exploitation rights over space resources. It provides a thorough analysis of why such national-level authorizations are incompatible with the current international legal framework and why they fail to offer the necessary legal certainty at the international level.
