A cell model for the numbers of researchers in a research organization is based on a chain of two cells containing young and experienced researchers. The researchers move from the young researchers cell to the experienced researchers cell. The two kinds of researchers can also flow to and from the network of national research organizations and to and from the international research organizations. We show that the presence of favorable conditions may not stop the decrease in the numbers of young and experienced researchers may decrease in time.
