Amid the imperative to expedite the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), universities are taking necessary actions to advance this agenda by refining and improving the curricular design of each academic program. Integrating the SDGs into university degree programs, such as architecture, presents a significant opportunity for advancement. Research on the integration of SDGs into architectural education is currently insufficient. It is vital to thoroughly redesign architecture curricula to meet today's requirements and address contemporary issues, particularly in terms of sustainability. This article aims to demonstrate how the curriculum at the School of Architecture at a private Peruvian university has been positively influenced since the initiation of the accreditation process with the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) and how this alignment has facilitated the integration of the SDGs into the program. This accreditation entails specific competencies directly linked with criteria defined for both the curriculum and its students. Compliance with these accreditation requirements has facilitated the attainment of the SDGs, particularly objectives 3, 4, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13. Thus, the School of Architecture is effectively contributing to SDG implementation by equipping future architects with the necessary academic foundation and sustainable commitment to devise efficient projects, fostering inclusive, environmental, innovative, cultural, and social responsibility in a sustainable future community.
