Aiming to analyze the perception of the notion of sustainability by the academic community of the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF), this study focuses on the experiential living on the campus of Juiz de Fora (MG, Brazil), considering the 2030 Agenda. The methodology involved bibliographic and documentary investigation and an online opinion survey, in 2023, reaching 45 respondents (students, teachers, and administrative technicians). Among the results obtained, the opinion survey revealed the association of the term “sustainability” with issues of ethics, harmony, future generations, natural resources, and responsible development. Regarding conceptual perception, “sustainability” was recognized as an action aimed at maintaining life and the capacity for regeneration. As for potentially sustainable spaces, the Botanical Gardens, the Juiz de Fora Campus, the Cine Theatro Central, and the Murilo Mendes Art Museum were considered areas for leisure, studies, recreation, knowledge, coexistence, and affection. The results indicated that the promotion of experiences and the improvement of UFJF spaces could contribute to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 3, 4, 10, 11, and 17. In this direction, strengthening the triad of research, teaching, and extension, through experiential living and tourism, seems like a strategic path towards the territorialization of the 2030 Agenda.
