This article explores the collaboration between academic institutions and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) with a focus on promoting sustainable practices and positive environmental impacts. Universities play a crucial role in this process by utilising their research and innovation capacities to develop effective solutions that directly address sustainability challenges. Through this partnership, advanced knowledge and techniques are transferred to CSOs, enabling them to implement methods that minimise environmental impacts and promote efficient resource use, as well as advancing a sustainability agenda in the third sector. Furthermore, the engagement of students in sustainability projects with CSOs not only brings new perspectives and energy to the organisations but also prepares a new generation of leaders aware of environmental issues. This academic collaboration encourages a practical and educational approach that benefits both students and the communities served by CSOs.
