Global scientific knowledge is ineffective if it lacks local debates and applications. Research conducted locally builds scenarios and perspectives for subsequent studies, thereby contributing to the production of global knowledge. This study aims to evaluate the impact of the Sustainability course, included in the undergraduate Business Administration curriculum at a public university in Paraná, Brazil, from the perspectives of the students. The case study was conducted through participant observation during classes from October 2023 to March 2024. With an average age of 19.13, it was found that students have a clear understanding of environmental sustainability. However, they face challenges in achieving a broader understanding and acceptance of the social and economic dimensions of sustainability. Due to limited discussions in primary education, the classes introduced new interpretations and analyses of sustainability, in addition to fostering critical thinking. Climate change and global warming, along with the scope and complexity of the concepts and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), were the topics that garnered the most interest from students. The research also contributes to achieving the SDGs, particularly targets 4.4 and 4.7 of SDG 4.
