Phytoremediation and vermicomposting are sustainable, eco-friendly, and cost-effective alternatives to conventional approaches for remediating both contaminants and waste from the environment. Remedying air, water, and soil from contaminants and wastes remains a major challenge worldwide. Phytoremediation removes, immobilizes, and/or degrades organic and inorganic contaminants in the environment using plants and associated microorganisms. On the other hand, vermicomposting recycles solid organic wastes and materials into nutrient-rich vermicompost using earthworms. With both phytoremediation and vermicomposting, the presence of hazardous contaminants and waste in the environment is greatly minimized. Consequently, the environmental and health implications of these contaminants and waste are curbed, and the environment is remediated.

摘要
