This study investigates the challenges and strategies of fostering multicultural workplace relationships in a globalized business environment. An exploratory survey was conducted with Brazilian employees of a multinational communications company headquartered in New Zealand. The study aimed to identify difficulties in interactions among employees from different cultural backgrounds and to assess the effectiveness of integration activities. Key findings indicate that language barriers and differing customs are primary obstacles to effective communication and bonding. Despite the presence of integration activities, language fluency and cultural sensitivity were identified as crucial factors in facilitating better workplace relationships. The study also highlighted the importance of inclusive programs, such as language courses, cultural exchange initiatives, and informal social events, to enhance mutual understanding and collaboration. Limitations include the study’s focus on a single company, suggesting future research should incorporate employees from multiple offices or companies to generalize results. The findings underscore the need for comprehensive diversity and inclusion strategies to improve organizational cohesion and effectiveness in multicultural settings.
