Design of a Tool to Assess Compliance with NC ISO 45001:2018 in Hotel Facilities
摘要
In 2018, the International Organization for Standardization 45001: “Occupational Safety and Health Management Systems, assumed that year as a Cuban standard, was published. Despite this, there are no experiences of its implementation in the Cuban business sector and specifically, in the hotel sector, due to the challenges imposed by the operationalization of its requirements, therefore it was defined as an objective to design a tool to diagnose the state of compliance with the requirements of the standard, for this purpose three hotel facilities were selected. Consequently, a checklist was drawn up containing the 33 requirements defined in the standard, grouped under 7 headings and 185 measurement criteria to evaluate compliance. The diagnosis was based on the application of tools such as interviews, surveys, expert criteria and review of documented information. The main result was that headings 1 and 3 were the most affected by the three facilities, so a series of measures focused on the management of each of them were implemented. The implementation of this standard allows the entities to obtain a high prestige and demonstrate to the interested parties their responsibility and commitment to safety and health.
