Electric vehicles (EVs) offer a sustainable and environmentally friendly transportation solution, effectively tackling climate change involves reducing emissions of greenhouse gases and reducing dependency on fossil fuels. The battery in EVs plays a crucial role in supplying the required reserve energy for the electric motor. However, the development of battery technology faces significant challenges in meeting the demands for fast charging, long-distance driving, extended battery life, and affordability. The main difficulty for electric vehicle manufacturers lies in selecting the most suitable lithium-ion (Li-Ion) battery that strikes a balance between these objectives. This paper proposes several multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) methods for Li-Ion battery selection, providing valuable guidance for manufacturers in choosing the optimal battery type and in optimizing the cost and performance of EVs. The results of this study can also use as a reference for enhancing the future sustainability of the automotive industry.

摘要
