Impacts of Temperature, Mass Flow Rate, and Humidity on a Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell’s Operating Parameters
摘要
This research evaluates the effect of operating conditions, including characteristics of temperature and mass flow rate belonging to operating parameters of the proton exchange membrane fuel cell. Under the simulation method, the resultant data are obtained with a single cell of 9 cm2 active area. A single fuel cell is modeled using commercial software. The research results illustrate that the above parameters significantly affect the characteristics of fuel cells. The operating temperature and mass flow rate of reactant gases are collected as critical parameters. The trend of cell performance features increases significantly in raising higher operating levels, especially with the mass flow rate of the gas inlet. The effect of which oxidant types are utilized is also of interest, and the cell considered to be pure oxygen marks higher performance.
