Application of Spindle Warm up Temperature Control Technology to Improve Thermal Errors of Machine Tools
摘要
Machine tools are evolving rapidly and are key for precision manufacturing. Heat issues affect accuracy, causing spindle displacement errors. Traditionally, spindles are cooled with room-temperature chillers, which can cause unstable temperatures and deformations during spindle preheating. This study introduces a new system for spindle preheating and spindle temperature maintenance. It heats the coolant to manage spindle temperature more effectively. This intelligent temperature control system reduces preheating time from 100 to 20 min, saving 80% of the time and cutting carbon emissions. It also reduces spindle displacement during shutdowns from 13 μm to 6 μm, minimizing thermal error.
