Milad Tower, with a height of 435 m in Tehran, is the sixth tallest telecommunication tower in the world. The authors have previously studied the condition assessment of Milad Tower and the performance of the data acquisition system being installed from 2011 to 2018. This paper reports on the modal parameters of Milad Tower identified from data measured via MEMS accelerometers recently upgraded and installed on Milad Tower. The new sensors’ superior sensitivity and lower noise density contribute to the accuracy of the identification and precision of the modal parameters. The identified parameters are compared with the previous ones with the modal characteristics of a reduced-order finite element model using MAC and COMAC indices. The findings aid in understanding the challenges and required steps in updating a high-fidelity reduced order model for Milad Tower structural health monitoring.

摘要
