The concluding chapter examines how US–Turkey defense ties are shifting from alliance-based cooperation to interest-based engagement. Turkey’s rise as a defense producer especially in drones and aerospace has reduced its dependency on the US and reshaped the nature of the relationship. At the same time, global instability, war in Ukraine and Gaza, and weakening Western cohesion have pushed Ankara to seek more autonomous and diversified defense partnerships. For Washington, maintaining ties means adapting to a multipolar defense market and treating Turkey as an independent partner with shared but not identical goals. Going forward, US–Turkey defense relations will likely follow a pragmatic model driven by overlapping interests, platform compatibility, and the ability to manage disagreement. The chapter argues that the relationship can endure, but only if both sides accept that cooperation now requires flexibility rather than complete alignment.

摘要
