Interventions
摘要
This chapter presents the essential techniques and interventions that therapists can use to implement supportive therapy effectively. It explores a range of strategies, including clarification, confrontation, mirroring, and reframing, which help patients gain insight and restructure their experiences. Emotional validation and universalizing are discussed as ways to foster connection and reduce feelings of isolation. The role of interpretation within a supportive framework is examined alongside ego-supportive techniques and mentalizing, which enhance patients’ self-regulation and coping capacities. Finally, the chapter addresses the importance of crisis planning, providing therapists with practical tools to manage acute distress.
