This chapter discusses the spatial, temporal, and relational changes inherent in living onlife. Transformations in the permanent liminality of the virtual space with its windows, the Panopticons and Synopticons, are not about the early promises of the wide gates to shared knowledge and democracy anymore, but they often establish tormenting and paralysing liminal hotspots with high negative affectivity via the intrusion of an interfering context. In the paradox of virtual reality, even the traditionally sacred boundaries between life and death may dissolve. Technology-driven hotspots extend to serious cases of troubled becoming, crippling the processes of co-construction of meaning and integrating personal experiences into shared social constructions.
