Doped Diamond-Like Carbon Coatings with Metallic and Nonmetallic Elements
摘要
The chapter examines the modification of the chemical composition of carbon coatings with a view to enhancing their tribological properties. The impact of the most prevalent dopants on reducing the coefficient of friction and enhancing wear resistance, while ensuring good coating adhesion to the substrate material, was analysed. Specific attention is devoted to elements such as fluorine, silicon and both carbide-forming and non-carbide-forming metals.
