Phishing attacks remain a significant cybersecurity threat, exploiting user vulnerabilities through deceptive email tactics. This study investigates the effectiveness of various visual warning designs in email clients, focusing on user engagement and behavioral responses. Using eye tracking technology and qualitative feedback, I explored the impact of warning placement, clarity, and interactivity on user attention and trust. Findings reveal that context-rich warnings integrated directly within email content enhance user engagement, prompt immediate responses, and serve an educational function, empowering users to recognize future threats independently. However, challenges such as alert fatigue, ecological validity, and participant diversity highlight areas for further research. Expanding studies to real-world settings and incorporating diverse user groups can improve the robustness and applicability of findings. The study underscores the potential of advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence and adaptive phishing detection algorithms, to create more personalized and effective warning systems. As cyber threats evolve, this research emphasizes the importance of continuously refining phishing warnings to protect digital interactions and enhance overall cybersecurity resilience.
