Potential of Artificial Intelligence in Millets Supply Chain Risk Management

Artificial intelligence (AI) is the most frequently used technology in big organized agriculture sector for optimizing farming efficiency and boosting supply chain management towards the maximum distribution of food grains among the users within minimum time and cost along with Machine Learning (MI), robotics and Internet of Thing (IoT). But now the time has come to think about shifting the dependency from traditional food to ancient nutritious food like Millet. But the risk is also involved in Millets Supply Chain (MSC) unlike other supply chain management. The revolution of AI technology also impacted the production- processing distribution and consumption of Millets for low-cost AI solutions. This AI sensor will definitely accelerate the demand and supply of millets suitability in nearby market i.e. soil-crop health monitoring; Increased efficiency of production on low cost; Improved decision-making on the involved factors like irrigation, fertilization, pest control, harvesting and finally processing; Enhanced automated customer service requirement; and easy accessibility of markets, etc. In the entire process, various risks have been involved from production to distribution of millets food grains among consumers in the form of the Millets Supply Chain towards fulfilling the requirement of customers. The social engagement in cultivation, processing, logistics, transportation, distribution, and finally consumption of millet to fulfil the economic and nutritional needs without affecting the environment and integrating them has also been discussed in term of Sustainable supply chain risk management (SSCRM). Attempt to identify the most critical barriers in MSC using DEMETAL decision modelling and minimised its impact using AI. Author established the cause-and-effect relationship in Millet Supply Chain Risk Management (MRSCM) for identified Risk in this research.
