The Certification of Chronometers at the Neuchâtel Cantonal Observatory. Setting up and Renewing Equipment and the Legal Framework for Certification (1858–1912)
摘要
The Cantonal Observatory in Neuchâtel was founded in 1858 to monitor chronometers manufactured in the region. To ensure this delicate mission, suitable apparatus and instruments were used, improved, changed. The certification was also based on a legal framework. Both have evolved over time to meet scientific and economic needs. This article addresses this evolution between 1855 and 1912.
