This reflection chapter from Siobhan McEvoy-Levy reflects on the insights offered by the first section of the volume on Emerging Trends in Youth and Peacebuilding. McEvoy-Levy identifies three trends that are evident across the chapters. Firstly, that youth are heterogenous producers of plural forms of peace knowledge situated in a variety of spaces of conflict/peace. Secondly, the reflexive research and writing of young people involved in peacebuilding is developing new models of knowledge production and supporting claims for their agenda-setting power. Thirdly, that there is growing evidence of the frustration with implementation of YPS and with the barriers to young people acquiring agenda-setting power. Drawing on her own personal and scholarly experience, McEvoy-Levy directs our attention to the importance of a deeper collaboration between stakeholders that centres youth leadership for peace.
