This chapter explores the implementation of the Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) agenda in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), a region often overlooked in global YPS discourse. While youth in LAC face distinct forms of violence—including adultcentrism, intersectional exclusion, and shrinking civic space—governments have yet to prioritise the agenda in their national policy and legislative frameworks. The chapter examines regional and national efforts led primarily by youth networks supported by multilateral institutions, highlighting promising developments such as youth-led research, civil society mobilisation, and training and education initiatives. Challenges persist, including limited government commitment, tokenistic youth engagement, and structural inequalities that exclude rural and marginalised youth from policy spaces. Drawing on both regional milestones and critical analysis, the chapter offers insights into how the YPS agenda can be meaningfully advanced across diverse LAC contexts. It concludes with recommendations for strengthening coordination, intersectionality, and institutional support for youth peacebuilding across the region.
