This chapter explores the tension between individual deviance and the broader organizational goal of achieving conformance. Using the case of corruption involving former International Biathlon Union (IBU) president Anders Besseberg, the chapter examines how domineering leadership, flawed organizational culture, and weak governance structures can contribute to ethical failures. With the IBU facing intense scrutiny and stakeholder pressure following criminal allegations against its former leader, the case highlights the critical role leadership style plays in shaping organizational behavior. It is suggested that understanding such dynamics offers valuable insight into how certain leadership traits and structural conditions can either foster misconduct or support efforts to rebuild compliance and promote meaningful conformance.
