A heart transplant (HTPL) poses a variety of challenges, ranging from the body’s adaptation to the new organ over the management of immunosuppression and immunosuppressive-associated sequels to the recovery of physical function. Despite improvements in operation techniques and post-surgical management that led to enhanced survival, the convalescence path requires well-thought-out planning. Given the complexity of the convalescence process, a close multidisciplinary accompaniment of the HTPL recipient is critical to optimise outcomes and reduce cardiovascular risk.

摘要

A heart transplant (HTPL) poses a variety of challenges, ranging from the body’s adaptation to the new organ over the management of immunosuppression and immunosuppressive-associated sequels to the recovery of physical function. Despite improvements in operation techniques and post-surgical management that led to enhanced survival, the convalescence path requires well-thought-out planning. Given the complexity of the convalescence process, a close multidisciplinary accompaniment of the HTPL recipient is critical to optimise outcomes and reduce cardiovascular risk.
