Since life expectancy is increasing, the world’s population is ageing in many ways. Diseases such as stroke pose growing challenges for older people, impacting their well-being and overall quality of life. A current objective is to support healthy ageing by promoting and maintaining functional capabilities. This, in turn, facilitates sustainable living environments where older people with disabilities can independently perform their daily activities without requiring constant supervision or assistance. This paper focuses on older people who are experiencing disability situations associated with illness and/or chronic conditions, including stroke. The data are derived from the questionnaire “Encuesta de Discapacidad, Autonomía personal y Situaciones de Dependencia, EDAD (2020)” conducted in Spain among older persons with disabilities (n = 6938 people aged 65 and over). Sociodemographic variables encompass factors such as sex and the individual’s illness/chronicity. A descriptive analysis is conducted with independent variables related to mobility—such as manipulation of objects, walking, etc.—and self-care/domestic life difficulties—personal hygiene, eating and drinking, etc. These variables are analysed alongside the dependent variables “How is your overall health?” and “Do you think that the use of new technologies has improved aspects of your daily life?”. The results suggest a correlation between positive perception and variables related to mobility and self-care. In conclusion, a positive perception of technologies could contribute to maintaining functional capacity and mobility. Moreover, the perception of new technology use promotes an ageing process where improving functional capacity becomes feasible. Technological devices, including robotic devices, have the potential to aid in the rehabilitation process for patients with neurological disorders causing impairments in upper and lower limbs. This assistance can lead to improvements in the quality of life and well-being of older people, promoting healthy ageing.
