Social media refers to the use of web-based and mobile technologies to turn communication into interactive. It has intruded into the lives of human beings like no other media. Netizens have started to increase in large numbers who get logged into one or the other social media handles. It is one of the most sought-after form of media of communication of sending and receiving messages. Virtual mode has captured us and has made it a mode for survival. Netizens find it comfortable to communicate in a less formal way thus making conversations more lively, jovial and friendly. During the process some of the users lure others and indulge themselves in criminal activities. There are many instances where women fall into prey in internet who become victims of forgery, cheating, molestation, physical as well as mental harassment. The basic reason for it is that it becomes easy to believe the culprits because they converse with ease and frankness whose prime objective is cheating the victims. Therefore, this chapter will discuss the strategies used by the culprits to lure the victims and also the ways and means by which women easily fall prey to the culprits on social media.
