This chapter employs the case study methodology to analyse the contrasting approaches to delivering energy transition projects across Africa. Africa is not a monolithic bloc; therefore, different regions within the continent and even countries within regions have approached the development of renewable energy projects differently. The chapter aims to evaluate and identify the best energy transition strategies for delivering projects that can be scaled across the entire region. The belief is that when the lessons learned are incorporated into project delivery in other countries or regions, it can spur a continent-wide energy transition that meets Africa’s needs and positions the continent to assume a leadership position globally.

摘要

This chapter employs the case study methodology to analyse the contrasting approaches to delivering energy transition projects across Africa. Africa is not a monolithic bloc; therefore, different regions within the continent and even countries within regions have approached the development of renewable energy projects differently. The chapter aims to evaluate and identify the best energy transition strategies for delivering projects that can be scaled across the entire region. The belief is that when the lessons learned are incorporated into project delivery in other countries or regions, it can spur a continent-wide energy transition that meets Africa’s needs and positions the continent to assume a leadership position globally.
