Its mission and development journey serve as a model for the evolution of many geoparks in China. The Chinese government has been a steadfast supporter of geoparks, not only for preserving geological heritage but also for advancing geoscience education and fostering sustainable development. These geoparks go beyond geology, encompassing integrated ecological and cultural environments that thrive within their geological context. In China, geoparks play a pivotal role in enhancing local livelihoods, thanks to substantial government backing.
